Sync Pulse

Sync Pulse shows you the real-time status of your calendar connections. See when calendars were last synced, identify any issues, and manually trigger syncs when needed.

Where to find Sync Pulse

Sync Pulse appears at the top of your Dashboard. It's always visible so you can quickly check your sync status at a glance.

What Sync Pulse shows

Last sync time

Shows when TurnoverPing last checked your calendars. Calendars are automatically synced every 15 minutes.

Healthy calendars

Number of calendars that synced successfully. Green means everything is working correctly.

Problem calendars

Calendars with issues (connection errors, expired URLs, etc.). Click to see which calendars need attention.

Calendar status indicators

Synced

Calendar is connected and syncing correctly. Shows last sync time.

Sync Warning

Temporary issue. Will retry automatically. Check the URL is still valid.

Broken

Calendar URL is no longer valid. You need to get a new URL from your booking platform and update it.

Manual sync

While calendars sync automatically every 15 minutes, you can trigger an immediate sync whenever you need to.

To sync manually:

  1. 1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. 2. Find Sync Pulse at the top
  3. 3. Click the "Sync Now" button
  4. 4. Wait a few seconds for the sync to complete

When to use manual sync

  • • You just received a new booking and want to see it immediately
  • • A guest modified their dates and you want to confirm the update
  • • You added a new calendar URL and want to verify it works

Troubleshooting sync issues

Calendar shows "Sync Warning"

This usually means a temporary connection issue. TurnoverPing will retry automatically.

  • • Wait 15-30 minutes and check again
  • • Try a manual sync
  • • Verify your iCal URL is still valid in your booking platform

Calendar shows "Broken"

The iCal URL is no longer accessible. This can happen when:

  • • The booking platform regenerated the URL
  • • You deleted and recreated the listing
  • • The platform changed their export format

Fix: Get a fresh iCal export URL from your booking platform and update it in the property settings. See instructions →

New bookings not appearing

If new bookings aren't showing up:

  • • Wait up to 15 minutes (sync interval) or trigger manual sync
  • • Check that the booking is confirmed (not just an inquiry)
  • • Verify Sync Pulse shows the calendar as "Synced"
  • • Make sure the checkout date is in the future

Sync frequency

TurnoverPing checks your calendars every 15 minutes. This means:

  • New bookings create jobs within 15 minutes of appearing in your calendar
  • Date changes update jobs within 15 minutes
  • Cancellations are detected within 15 minutes

For immediate updates, use the manual "Sync Now" button.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my calendar showing as synced but I don't see a booking?

"Synced" means TurnoverPing successfully fetched your calendar data. If a booking doesn't appear, it may not be in your calendar yet (check directly in Airbnb/VRBO), or the checkout date may have already passed.

Can I change the sync frequency?

Currently, the 15-minute sync interval is fixed for all accounts. For immediate updates, use the manual sync button.

Does syncing use API calls against my Airbnb limit?

No. TurnoverPing uses iCal export URLs, which are public endpoints. This doesn't count against any API limits on your Airbnb or VRBO account.
